Learning is not always about sitting in the classroom and listening to what the teachers say. We can learn from everywhere in anyways as well. All 4th graders students from SD Muhammadiyah 9 Malang prove it to be right. Right on September, 7th 2023, 119 students, 8 teachers, and 8 student’s parents went to Museum Tubuh and Jatim Pae 1 to do the Outing Class Program.
Relating to the Science and Social subject materials, which are human senses and Indonesian cultural diversity, all students discovered many new knowledge about human senses from this outing class activity that was held in Museum Tubuh. Other than that, in Jatim Park 1, all students also got to know many things about Indonesian culture. Other than the material taught in the classroom, there are so many new things that all 4th graders students of SD Muhammadiyah 9 Malang got from this trip.
At 7.30 AM, all 4th graders are getting ready. It takes around 30 minutes to arrive at Museum Tubuh and Jatim Park 1. There are 22 cars in total that are used to escort the students.
In order, all 4th graders enter the Museum Tubuh for each class. It started with the mouth zone, ear zone, nose zone, and many other body parts that were being visited. In every body parts zone, there were some explanations about the function of each body part. It is explained in an interesting way so that all students are not getting bored with the explanation. After several parts, there is an activity zone as well. Students can do many activities related to the material explained. This is a learning experience that felt so much fun.
From Museum Tubuh, the trip continued to other parts that explained about cultures from all around Indonesia. There are many cultures and traditions that are shown in the form of statues and pictures. Some of those namely Tari Saman from Aceh, Sedekah Bumi from Java, and Gamelan that also originated from Java. Beside that, there are many other cultural forms that are exhibited such as culture from Betawi, Lampung, Batak, etc. All 4th graders also can see the replicas of the traditional houses and traditional clothes from all around Indonesia which are also equipped with interesting summary about each tradition.
From this Outing Class activity, all 4th graders students of SD Muhammadiyah 9 Malang get a new vibes of learning. They were away from the classroom and given a chance to look closely at various realistic and sensible learning media. Happy feeling brings a pleasant learning process, doesn’t it?
